ABOUT WORKSHOP SPEAKERS

Carola DeRooy is an Archivist and Museum Program Manager for the National Park Service. She earned a Masters of Library and Information Science Degree from San Jose State University and was with The Bancroft Library before joining NPS nine years ago. She travels extensively in her job, and in her spare time managed to co-author Point Reyes Peninsula, an Arcadia book.

David Grossman has earned several degrees including a Masters in Library Science from the University of Michigan. As History Room Librarian for the Mill Valley Public Library, he is digitalizing the library’s collection of historic documents for access on the library’s web site.

Doug Fowler has worked with East Bay park systems for over 25 years, 18 of which have been as a ranger with the East Bay Regional Park District. His gravestone restoration skills are most evident in Rose Hill Cemetery located in the Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve. Doug is a member of the Association for Gravestone Studies and has studied at the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training.
