Celebrating 150 Years of Laura Ingalls Wilder

Join the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society as we pay homage to author Laura Ingalls Wilder of “Little House on the Prairie” fame on the 150th anniversary of her birth. On Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm enjoy a tour of the beautifully restored 1889 Victorian Dr. Willella Howe-Waffle House and Medical Museum, home and office of one of Orange County’s first female physicians. Guided tours will begin at 11:1512:151:15 and 2:00, with no reservations needed.

 Meet "Laura" herself as she shares stories about 19th Century life on the American prairie, and learn about crafts, food, and games popular in the 1800s. Your tour includes refreshing lemonade and delicious gingerbread to round out your relaxing experience of a fascinating era of history. And be sure to visit our gift shop to purchase interesting books on local history, and vintage gifts and ephemera.
