On the Road with California Humanities

On the Road with California Humanities Presents

In Tune: The Arts and Humanities in the Golden State

Join California Humanities on Wednesday, October 26th at 5:30 PM at the Oakland Museum of California for the latest installment of their On the Road Series, which features Pulitzer Prize winners in dialogue with notable thinkers and the community, examining contemporary issues to guide California along the path to a vibrant future.

During National Arts and Humanities Month, we offer a celebration of the arts and humanities at the center of California life, and a conversation on the importance of providing access to educational opportunities that include both.

Speakers include Marc Bamuthi Smith (Chief of Program and Pedagogy, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts), Sarah Crowell (Artistic Director, Destiny Arts Center), Jordan Simmons (Artistic Director, East Bay Center for the Performing Arts), and Morton Subotnick (Electronic Music Pioneer, Composer, and Pulitzer Prize Finalist).

The evening will also include performances from spoken word artist Donte Clark, Youth Radio, Destiny Arts Center, and East Bay Center for the Performing Arts: Deep Roots Wide World.

The event is FREE so don't miss out! Click here for registration information.
