About Regional Vice Presidents
Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) are the connection between the Conference of California Historical Societies (CCHS) and the local historical communities. What is an RVP? He or she, as spelled out in our CCHS Bylaws, is a liaison. An RVP shall preform liaison functions between members of CCHS in their respective regions and CCHS. If you love to volunteer, get involved, and enjoy attending historical society functions, this is a terrific opportunity to use your interests to help local groups. As an RVP, you will be a valued contact, connecting groups and sharing information about scheduled events and CCHS activities.
RVP's are a resource to the local historical community, providing information about success stories in program and practice of the respective regions and CCHS as a whole, articulating and explaining issues that need attention within the region, and sharing great ideas from the region to the broader CCHS state-wide, historical community.
The RVPs are an important administrative contact for you - get to know your RVP!
There are 40 Regions of CCHS through-out the state, some of which do not have an RVP. Interested in becoming an RVP or know someone that is? View the RVP Region Map and contact Gary Bancroft, CCHS First Vice President regarding RVP placement!
Below is a list of current RVPs and their contact information. This is your direct communicative path to current CCHS information and perspective. Please contact your nearest RVP if you are interested in inviting them to your next historical organization meeting to learn more about CCHS and how we can help your organization!
