The TCG&HS is a small (but not to be overlooked) enthusiastic group that has a commitment to obtain, preserve, and share the rich history of Tehama County. 2024 has been a year of changes for us and we have been busier than ever! In addition to producing the special 40th anniversary of our annual publication “Memories” we also:
.Maintain a very active presence on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TCGHSOC by posting information about local history and learning new things from our followers. We invite you to visit our Facebook page!
.Publish a weekly column in The Red Bluff Daily News called “Tales from Tehama” written by Josie Reifschneider Smith. Check it out!
.Maintain a fantastic website https://www.tehamacountyhistory.com/ includes our book publications/sales information, membership opportunities, information about upcoming events, and tons of history information and resources. We invite you to visit our website!
.Work in conjunction with other local museums including the Kelly-Griggs House Museum, Ide Adobe State Park, and the Tehama County Museum. We believe that by working together our groups can be stronger and have a greater presence in our community.
.Work with the Tehama County library by sharing resources, advertising their events, participating in book sale events, and making our books available for sale at the three county libraries.
.Assist with customer/patron history inquiries.
.Supported and were supported by local PBS station KIXE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Re2dOu21NQ.
